Welcome to Your Home of Horror!

Official Home of Horror is an independent horror publication covering news, reviews, trailers, and features across movies, gaming, and genre entertainment. Built by horror fans, the platform celebrates everything from cult classics and modern nightmares to the filmmakers, festivals, and stories keeping the genre alive.

We appreciate you being here and being part of it.

Our Story

Home of Horror began in 2018 as a small Instagram page called @theinstahorror, originally created to share horror collectibles, masks, physical media, and community posts. What started as a fun fan project slowly grew into something much larger as more horror fans connected through a shared love of the genre.

Over the years, our work has expanded into coverage opportunities and collaborations connected to studios and creators including Netflix, Disney Plus, Universal Pictures, Warner Bros., Amazon MGM Studios, Blumhouse Productions, and Illusion Industries. We also stepped into the horror gaming space through coverage connected to Supermassive Games’ The Quarry, Saber Interactive’s Evil Dead: The Game, and Gun Interactive’s The Texas Chain Saw Massacre.

Home of Horror also serves as part of the official Fangoria Brand Ambassador program, helping support one of horror’s most recognizable legacy publications.

We proudly support events including El Paso Horrorfest and the Happy Fright Film Festival, both built around independent horror and community-driven creativity.

Today, Home of Horror has received press access and coverage opportunities for events including the Screamfest Horror Film Festival, Telluride Horror Show, Overlook Film Festival, and Texas Frightmare Weekend.

What began as a fan page has continued growing into an independent horror platform that still values the community that helped build it in the first place.

Our Mission

We want to cover horror in a way that feels honest, informed, and connected to the genre itself.

That means supporting filmmakers, spotlighting independent projects, covering major releases without losing interest in smaller stories, and creating a space where horror fans can actually enjoy talking about the genre without constant negativity or gatekeeping.

Our Vision

To continue growing Home of Horror into a trusted independent horror platform that celebrates the genre’s past, present, and future while staying grounded in the community that made it possible.

Our Values

Community: Horror is better when shared.

Authenticity: We only promote what we genuinely believe in.

Creativity: Horror continues evolving, and we love seeing where it goes next.

Integrity: We value honest coverage, accurate reporting, and respect for both fans and filmmakers.
